Plume Peril: Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026

Plume Peril is a game made by Robert Clark. This policy explains what happens to your information when you play it.

The short version

Plume Peril does not collect any personal information itself. It has no accounts of its own, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. If you use Apple's Game Center, your scores go to Apple to show on the leaderboards (see below).

What is stored on your device

To work, the game saves a few things on your own device only:

This information stays on your device. It is deleted if you delete the app.

Game Center leaderboards

On iPhone and iPad, the app uses Apple's Game Center for its leaderboards (one each for Calm, Classic and Frenzy). If you are signed in to Game Center, the score from each run you finish is sent to Apple, and your Game Center nickname and score can be seen by other players on those leaderboards.

This is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Plume Peril itself does not receive or keep your Game Center details. You can sign out of Game Center, or change your nickname and who can see you, in your device's Settings under Game Center.

Motion sensors

If you choose tilt steering, the game reads your device's motion sensors to steer the squid. These readings are used instantly on your device and are not stored or sent anywhere.

Photos

If you choose to save a run picture or video, the app asks for permission to add it to your Photos. It only adds the files you choose to save. It never reads your existing photos.

Sharing

When you share a run, the game opens your device's own share options. What you share, and with whom, is up to you. The game does not see or keep any of it.

Children

The game itself collects no personal information from anyone, including children. Game Center is run by Apple, and its settings for children are managed through Apple's Family Sharing and Screen Time.

Changes

If the game ever adds features that use personal information, this policy will be updated first, and the date above will change.
